London - Arabstoday

The actor Hrithik Roshan is becoming a cartoon superhero. His character Krrish, from the Bollywood film trilogy, is being turned into a series of animated films by the production house Toonz, which has collaborated with Cartoon Network and his father Rakesh Roshan’s Film Kraft Productions. The animated movies will depict the childhood adventures of Krishna, who discovers that he can help people with his special powers. The films will be released over the next two years. The first film, Kid Krrish, will be broadcast on Cartoon Network in July. The third film in the Krrish trilogy is directed by Rakesh Roshan and once again features Hrithik in the title role. Scheduled to be released in November, the movie co-stars Priyanka Chopra, Kangna Ranaut and Vivek Oberoi Nepalese host attempts talk show record A Nepalese television presenter will attempt to set the record for the world’s longest television talk show this week by staying on air for 60 hours. Rabi Lamichhane, 36, a former journalist based in the US, has returned to Kathmandu to stage the Lord Buddha Was Born in Nepal programme for a chance to capture the Guinness world record. “Through the talk show I want to spread the word about Nepal and promote tourism,” said Lamichhane, who is now a manager at a Subway sandwich outlet in Baltimore. “I am inviting politicians, sportspersons, film actors and social workers.” As per Guinness World Records rules, Lamichhane will be allowed a five-minute break every hour. “I will use whatever time I accumulate for lunch and dinner breaks,” he said, adding that he might even take a nap if the situation allows. The show, which will be recorded in Nepali with English subtitles at News24 Television, will be streamed live on the channel’s website, Madhuri Dixit revels in action scenes Some actors dread their action sequences but not Madhuri Dixit, who plays the lead in the forthcoming Gulaab Gang. “Had great fun shooting action sequences for Gulaab Gang yesterday,” the actress posted on Twitter. “Tiring but completely challenging and exciting.” The film is partly inspired by the social activist Sampat Pal Devi and her group of activists who have used violence against abusive husbands in an effort to stop attacks against women. Dixit will also later appear in Dedh Ishqiya, the sequel to 2010’s acclaimed Ishqiya. Lata Mangeshkar: I no longer fit in After recording songs for more than 1,000 films in a career that spans seven decades, the singer Lata Mangeshkar says she now feels out of place in the Indian movie industry. “Cinema has changed a lot since the times when we used to work,” said Mangeshkar, 83. “I will not say that it’s not good, but I don’t fit into it. If I would sing in any film today, I don’t think I’d be able to sing it beautifully.” However, she believes that “change is inevitable in this world” and said that she is not “blaming anyone”. Mangeshkar launched her music label LM Music last year.
