Bahrain focuses on clean, renewable energy

Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Abdulhussain Mirza has received Caspian Balestra Group Chief Executive Officer Marty Youssefiani and Regional Director Al Hakam Al Taleb.
The minister was briefed on the steps the group is taking to expand its presence and investment in solar energy projects in Bahrain.
The company is one of the contributors in the implementation of the first solar power project in Bahrain, which has been set up with a number of companies, including Bahrain Petroleum Company.
The minister said that focus on renewable energy has become necessary with the global trends in the field, especially in view of the wise leadership's keenness to promote the use of clean energy for comprehensive sustainable development.
The company executives thanked the minister for the meeting, citing the cooperation of officials in implementing solar energy products.
