The 11th forum of GCC societies and leagues of sociologists will open in Bahrain on Tuesday, November 21. Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan will patronize the event.
The three-day symposium, which concludes on Thursday, will be held under the theme "Confronting Family Violence in the GCC states". The forum will be held as Bahrain joins other nations in the world to mark the United Nations (UN) International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which falls on November 25.
In a statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), Forum General Coordinator Sadiq Sahwan said that all preparations had been undertaken. He stressed the importance of the forum which convenes in Bahrain amid mounting challenges facing the Arabian Gulf families, paying tribute to Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan for patronizing the event.
