Minister of Immigration and Egyptians Affairs Abroad Nabila Makram said that, there hasn’t been any decision regarding the Egyptians living in Qatar, as they continue going to work and receiving salaries as usual, confirming the existence of a hotline to communicate with the Egyptian community in Qatar since Monday morning. “If any decision was issued against Egyptians living in Qatar, the necessary precaution will be taken” she said during a statement this afternoon.
Minister Nabila reassured Egyptians that there is a department to take care of their interests, in addition to the continuation of consular services provided to Egyptians in Qatar, especially with the suspension of the embassy and the absence of diplomatic representation to Egypt after cutting relations with Doha. She said that, the Immigration Ministry is coordinating with Ministries of Manpower and Foreign Affairs to face any upcoming decisions against the Egyptian community in Qatar, and the ministry is ready to help whoever wishes to return to Egypt.
