First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport and President of Bahrain Athletics Association Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa expressed appreciation of the Bahraini women’s achievements which contributed to the kingdom’s growth and prosperity.
Marking the Bahraini Women’s Day, observed on December 1, Shaikh Khalid hailed the occasion, lauding the royal reform project which supports Bahraini women at all levels. He said the project has put a framework for Bahraini women to obtain their full rights in line with the strategy of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) spearheaded by its President Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King.
The strategy, Shaikh Khalid added, aims to boost the status of Bahraini women as a main and sustainable partner in Bahrain’s comprehensive development process. He stressed capability of the Bahraini women to make strides in proving their worth and ability to emphasise their presence in many fields on equal par with men. He also underlined the key role played by Bahraini women in fast-tacking development in tune with the government’s trend to further engage them in decision-making. He pointed out choosing the engineering field this year to spotlight the accomplishments of Bahraini women in this vital sector.
Shaikh Khalid extended to HRH Princess Sabeeka and all Bahraini women heartfelt congratulations on Bahraini Women’s Day, wishing Bahraini women continuous success in the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
