Six people were arrested for smuggling radioactive uranium-238 in Georgia, authorities said Monday.
The individuals were planning to sell nuclear material uranium valued at 200 million US dollars in Tbilisi, when they were detained, said the Georgian State Security Service.
A court order had been issued for pre-trial detention of the suspects -- three Georgians and three Armenians, the agency added.
It declined to give the amount of uranium-238 captured.
In January, three men were reportedly arrested for smuggling radioactive substance cesium-137 in Georgia.
