The Pakistan Ulema (scholars) Council has condemned in the strongest terms the Iranian-manufactured missile launched by the Houthi militias towards Riyadh this week.
In a statement, the council said the use of sophisticated Iranian weapons by the Houthis reveals the “true, ugly face” of this militia as it reveals “Iranian intentions and plans targeting Saudi Arabia.”
The council praised the “vigilance of Saudi forces and their success in intercepting the missiles fired from Yemen into Saudi territory.”
The remarks were made at an emergency meeting held by the president of the Council, Sheikh Dr. Tahir Mahmoud Ashrafi in the eastern city of Lahore in the presence of a large number of heads of Islamic associations, senior journalists and representatives of humanitarian organizations and civil society organizations, as well as representatives from different sectors of Pakistani society.
