Two policemen and a detainee were killed early Friday when bandits attacked a police station in central Nigeria's Kogi State, local media reported.
The bandits stormed the police station at about 1.a.m. and opened fire on the security agents on duty before setting ablaze the facility, Abdullahi Chafe, the Kogi State police chief told the official News Agency of Nigeria.
Another group of bandits attacked and killed a local resident in the area, he said.
A police investigation aimed at apprehending the bandits is underway, Chafe added.
