Russia has confirmed the need to involve all of the main political forces, tribal groups and regions in the formation of the united government of Libya.
During a meeting with UN Secretary-General's Special Representative for Libya Martin Kobler in Moscow, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov confirmed the need to involve all of the main political forces, tribal groups and regions in the formation of the united government of Libya.
In this context, the two sides emphasized the importance of reaching the earliest possible consensus on the persisting issues to allow the Libyans to begin working on the current internal problems, including combating the terrorist threat, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The two diplomats discussed various aspects of the implementation of the political agreement on intra-Libyan settlement, signed with the active involvement of the United Nations in Skhirat, Morocco, on December 17, 2015.
