General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and visiting Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutolu, reviewed Friday the latest regional developments. The meeting, which was attended by Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, also discussed ways of enhancing bilateral relations for the best interest of the two friendly countries. The two sides stressed the importance of concerted regional and international efforts to find out adequate means to secure and deliver urgent humanitarian assistance to those affected by the current events in Libya. In a joint press conference with his visiting Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutolu before capping a two-day working visit to the UAE, Shaikh Abdullah announced that two Emirati aid planes would fly tomorrow to Turkey and then to Libya to meet the urgent needs of the Libyan people. The Emirati and Turkish ministers affirmed their countries' standing beside the brotherly Libyan people, wishing them better future. They said that Abu Dhabi and Ankara would be extremely happy if that happens. The two ministers also condemned the acts of violence and killing and destruction of infrastructure, calling on the Libyan authorities to immediately refrain from the use of violence and act to stop bloodshed. They also expressed heart-felt condolences to the families of victims and those injured. Shaikh Abdullah and his Turkish counterpart opened earlier in the day the the renovated building of the Turkish Embassy in Abu Dhabi. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutolu described UAE as a very close friend of Turkey.He said relations between UAE and Turkey were improving very quickly in recent years, adding, "We see UAE as the most important strategic ally of Turkey in the region."
