Yemeni Vice President General Ali Mohsen al Ahmar received here Wednesday the US and Japanese Ambassadors to Yemen Matthew Tueller and Katsuyoshi Hayashi respectively.
Al Ahmar discussed with Tueller the latest developments in Yemen and the commitment of all parties with the cease fire in preparation for the consultation to be held in Kuwait on Monday, according to the Yemeni News Agency.
He further reviewed the US diplomat about the violations committed by the militias of the Houthis and former Yemeni president Ali Abdullah Saleh in various cities as it targeted the army posts and the residential areas.
Al Ahmar underlined that despite this, the government is determined to achieving peace according to the Gulf Initiative, the outcome of the National Dialogue Conference and the resolution of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) number 2216.
The Yemeni vice president reiterated that the cabinet wants to reach a solution to restore legitimacy, end coup, disarm the militias and retrieve the state's sovereignty.
For his part, Tueller hailed the commitment of the legitimate forces with cease fire, hoping that the consultations help in resuming the political process in the country.
Meanwhile, al Ahmar discussed with the Japanese ambassador means of enhancing joint relations and lauded the support of Japan to the Yemeni government and people amid the current tough conditions.
The Yemeni official expressed his appreciation to the Japanese grants offered in February via the United Nations organizations estimated at 42 million dollars.
The grants helped in alleviating the suffering of the Yemenis especially those in the provinces tightly besieged by the militias.
For his part, Hayashi underscored his country's backing to the Yemeni government
