Last night (4 November), CEW (UK) hosted its 2013 Achiever Awards at the The Jumeirah Carlton Tower in London. Established in 2002, the CEW(UK) Achiever Awards have created a public forum for the advancement of women by recognising top female talent within the industry. The following women received a CEW(UK) Achiever Award: Sue James, editorial director at woman & home; Tracey Woodward, Commercial Director for Urban Retreat; Julietta Dexter, one of the Founders of The Communications Store; and Elizabeth Fagan, Marketing Director at Boots UK. The most highly anticipated announcement of the evening was the winner of this year’s CEW(UK) Members’ Achiever Award, a special award for an up and coming star within the beauty industry - chosen by the CEW(UK) members. This year the winner was Bella Blissett, YOU Magazine beauty columnist and freelance journalist. Finalists in this category also included Jamila Askarova, the Co-founder of Gazelli Skincare; Charlotte Knight, the Founder & Creative Director of Ciaté London; and Christina Moss and Julia Yule, the Co-Founders and Directors of Bloom and Blossom. Each year the CEW(UK) Board recognises one individual with the CEW(UK) Special Industry Award, with Sean Harrington, Managing Director of Elemis, picking up this year's accolade.
