A group of 42 Israeli Jewish settlers on Wednesday forced their way into al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem, under the protection of Israeli police, local sources told Palestinian News Agency (WAFA).
The settlers, divided in groups, provocatively toured around the holy site, while Muslim worshippers chanted religious slogans to protest the settlers' entry. According to a statistic released by Islamic Waqf department, 14,806 Israeli Jewish settlers’ incursions into al-Aqsa mosque occurred in 2016 only.
