Israeli forces detained early Tuesday two Palestinians from the West Bank and Jerusalem, including a minor, and summoned three others to appear before the Israeli intelligence for interrogation, Palestinian News (Wafa) reported security sources as saying.
Israeli police detained a Palestinian minor from the vicinity of Bab al-Sahira, also known as Herod’s Gate, one of the seven gates leading to the Old City of Jerusalem.
Meanwhile in Jenin district, Israeli forces stormed al-Yamoun town west of the city, where they proceeded to summon three Palestinians after breaking into, ransacking their houses and interrogating members of their families.
Meanwhile in Hebron district, forces detained Kifah ‘Ali Abu ‘Ayyash after breaking into his house in Beit Ummar town to the north of the city.
Abu ‘Ayyash was detained as forces conducted military drills in Wadi al-Joz and Farsh al-Hawa localities in Hebron.
Forces have recently conducted military drills in the Nablus village of Khirbet al-Tawil amidst Palestinian wheat crops as well as in the northern Jordan Valley.
In preparation for such drills, forces frequently prevent Palestinian farmers' access to their lands by placing checkpoints, barriers and declaring areas as military training zones.
