Four Palestinian children and four adults were killed and 10 others injured early Saturday in the Gaza Strip in an Israeli airstrike, medical sources said.
The eight people died in their house in the southern Gaza Strip city of Khan Younis a few hours before a 12-hour humanitarian lull comes into effect, medics told Xinhua.
Earlier in the day, five other people were killed in separate airstrikes in Gaza City.
Since the latest spate of violence between Israel and Palestinian militants in Gaza Strip erupted on July 8, the death toll in the Palestinian enclave has mounted to 878, while more than 5,700 people have been injured. Israel has lost more than 30 civilians and soldiers.
Earlier Saturday, Hamas said it and other Palestinian factions had agreed to a 12-hour halt of fighting proposed by the United Nations, which starts from 8:00 a.m. local time (0500 GMT) to 8:00 p.m. (1700 GMT) on Saturday.
