A Palestinian man identified as Fadil Muhammad Halawah was shot dead by Israeli troops in northern Gaza Strip on Sunday, a spokesman for the Palestinian Ministry of Health said.
"Halawah, 32, died as soon as he arrived at Kamal Udwan Hospital in Jabaliya with a gunshot wound," Dr. Ashraf Al-Qidra said, adding he was hunting birds east of Jabaliya when Israeli soldiers shot him dead.
Halawah is the first Palestinian to be killed by Israeli forces in the Strip since the signing of a ceasefire agreement between Palestinian factions and Israel last August, ending 50 days of violence.
Earlier in the day, Israeli army announced the detention of two Palestinian men near the Kerem Shalom crossing in eastern Khan Younis, south of the Strip. The two people were taken to an unknown place.
