At least 20 Al Shabab militants were killed in raids launched by foreign forces on its strongholds in Awdhegle city in western Somalia, local sources said on Wednesday.
A senior commander of Al Shabab movement was shot dead in the raids, the sources added.
The nationality of foreign troops participating in the raids is unknown.
The raids comes three days after the US announced that it has carried out an air strike on a training camp of Al Shabab movement, killing 150 of its fighters.
