The Somali army backed by African Union troops have retaken control of Lanta-Buuro in Lower Shabelle region, a day after Al Shabaab terrorist group seized the area, Shabelle radio reported on Tuesday.
Al Shabaab militants, who poured into the area peacefully on Monday afternoon and seized an army base, have killed several soldiers.
Lanta Buuro, is a key location near Afgoye town, some 30Km north-west of Mogadishu. Residents say the Somali army is in full control of the village.
