Two militants including a Taliban key commander were killed and six others sustained injuries in the central Wardak province on Tuesday, a statement of the provincial government said. "Acting upon intelligence report, the security forces raided Taliban hideout in Daimirdad district of Wardak province today at noontime and in the clash which lasted for a while, two Taliban rebels including a key commander were killed and six others injured," the statement said. It did not reveal the name of the killed commander but noted the killing of the commander is a major setback to the Taliban insurgents in Wardak province. No security personnel and civilians were hurt during the operations, the statement contended. Taliban militants fighting the government are yet to make comment.
