At least 20 militants belonging to Islamic State (IS) or Daesh terrorist group were killed in a US drone strike in Afghanistan’s eastern Nangarhar province near the Pak-Afghan border early on Saturday, Pakistan Tribune reported.
According to reports, an unmanned aircraft fired several missiles on the militant hideouts in Nangarhar’s Achin district.
Resultantly, 20 militants, including key commanders, were killed while several others sustained injuries. Several sanctuaries of militants were also destroyed in the attack.
The aircraft continued to hover in the area for several hours after the attack.
A few days ago, three militants including a Taliban commander were killed and several others injured when a US drone targeted a compound in Nangarhar, which borders Pakistan’s Federally Administered Tribal Areas.
