At least 35 members of Taliban group were killed and six others were injured during military operations carried out by Afghan forces in various provinces across the country, Khama news agency reported Monday.
In a statement, the Ministry of Interior said Afghan National Police conducted several anti-terrorism joint operations with Afghan National Army to clean some of the areas from terrorists.
The operations were conducted in Kunar, Baghlan, Kunduz, Kandahar, Maidan Wardak, Ghazni, Khost, Helmand and Nimroz provinces, leaving 35 militants dead and six others wounded
Six members of Taliban militias were arrested.
During the crackdown, Afghan National Police discovered and confiscated light and heavy rounds ammunition, the statement said.
The group have not commented yet on the statement.
