At least eight Taliban militants were killed and six others were injured following military operations by Afghan national security forces, the Interior Ministry said.Afghan national police forces conducted the operations in coordination with the Afghan national army and Afghan intelligence – national directorate of security (NDS) operatives. The operations were conducted in Kandahar, Zabul, Uruzgan, Ghazni, Paktika and Paktiya provinces of Afghanistan in the past 24 hours, according to the Afghan (Khaama Press).According to a statement released by the interior ministry of Afghanistan, Afghan national security forces also arrested a suspected militant during the operations. The statement further added that Afghan security forces discovered and seized some ammunition and explosives during the operations.Afghan police forces discovered and defused an improvised explosive device (IED) during the operation in Farah province of Afghanistan, the statement by interior ministry added.
