At least 89 people were killed and over 80 others were injured following a suicide attack in the Afghan eastern Paktika province.
The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon in Orgun district after a suicide bomber detonated a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device, according to the BBC.
The market was crowded, full of people doing their shopping at the time of the attack. The eastern province of Paktika shares a border with Pakistan's restive and volatile tribal areas.
Security official said the dead bodies of nearly 80 people were recovered, while officials in Orgun civil hospital said dozens of injured people including women and children have been taken to the hospital.
No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
