Afghan security forces during an operation against militants have killed six Taliban fighters in Hesarak district of the eastern Nangarhar province, the provincial government said in a statement released here on Sunday.
"The government forces launched an operation against militants in Hesarak district Saturday night and so far six rebels have been killed and five others made captive," the statement said. According to the statement, the operation is going on.
It didn't say if there were any casualties on the security personnel. Taliban militants who launched a massive offensive against government facilities in Hesarak district couple of days ago have yet to make comment.
