A bomb blast organized by militants to target police vans injured two civilians in Pul-e-Khumri city, capital of Baghlan province, 160 km north of Kabul on Saturday, police spokesman Jawed Basharat said.
"It was a remote-controlled bomb placed along a road next to the police department. It went off this morning, injuring two passing-by civilians," Basharat told reporters.
He added that four bombs had been discovered and defused from the area a day earlier.
Taliban militants who are largely relying on suicide and roadside bombings are yet to make comment.
