Two back to back explosions were heard in Afghan capital of Kabul on Saturday afternoon, causing panic among the people, sources said.
"Security forces seized explosives and ammunition lately. They detonated them in Dehsabz area in Kabul's eastern outskirts and that I rule out insurgents' activity in the incident," a security official told Xinhua.
However, no statement or press release was issued by the country's interior and defense ministries to inform the media about the incident prior to the explosions.
Afghans are war-weary people and any big bang causes concern among them.
Several bombing attacks took place in Kabul over the past month.
On Aug. 22, up to 12 people, including three foreigners, were killed and nearly 70 others wounded in a deadly car bombing near a hospital in Makroryan locality of the city, where populated residential buildings were located.
