NATO forces have assisted Afghan National Army (ANA) to repulse Taliban attacks in southern Helmand province, according to Khaama Press.
A statement released by the Ministry of Defense on Saturday states that militants launched attacks on security posts of army and police in Adam Khan and Rahim villages of Gerishk District last night.
The statement adds that Afghan forces on the ground responded to the attacks with the assistance of the airstrikes of foreign forces killing 35 assailants. Three vehicles belonging to the attackers were also destroyed.
There were no casualties to Afghan forces during the attack.
Although, the statement does not specify what group the militants belonged to but at the time Gerishk District is the site of heavy clashes between security forces and Taliban.
