One solider of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) was killed in an attack in eastern Afghanistan on Tuesday morning.
"An International Security Assistance Force service member died as a result of an enemy forces attack in eastern Afghanistan today, " the ISAF said in a statement.
The statement gave neither the nationality of the victim nor the details about the incident under the ISAF policy.
Nearly 50,000 NATO-led ISAF troops, down from the peak of 130, 000 in 2010, are stationed in Afghanistan. Some 32,800 of them are Americans and the United States plans to trim its forces to less than 10,000 next year.
About 56 NATO soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan so far this year.
