At least four intelligence officials and a civilian were killed in a roadside bomb that ripped through their vehicle in southern Kandahar province of Afghanistan, official said on Saturday.
The governorآ’s spokesman, Samim Khpalwak told media that the blast took place in the Ibrahim Khalifa Baba area of Dand district, adding that the National Directorate of Security (NDS) officials had gone to the area on excursion.
Confirming the casualties he said that a fifth NDS official was injured in the blast.
No group claimed responsibility of the blast but the official accused Taliban rebels for the incident.
The roadside blast came at a time when NATO /ISAF forces are preparing to leave Afghanistan till the end of the year handing overall security situation to Afghan forces.
