At least 25 Taliban rebels were killed during a clearing operation in the Bakwa district of western Farah province of Afghanistan, said officials on Saturday.
The spokesman of the 207th Zafar Military Corps, Hanifullah Rezaee told media that the Afghan National Army (ANA) spearheaded the joint military offensive.
He said that different brands of weapons, two cars and as many motorbikes have been destroyed during the clashes with rebels, adding that Afghan forces did not suffer causalities during the offensive.
The militants had carried the bodies of their colleagues to the Balaboluk district, he claimed.
The security forces paced up the operation in different areas of Afghanistan following the withdrawal of NATO/ISAF forces from the country.
