A suicide bomber blew himself up killing two including himself and wounding four others in Logar province with Pul-e-Alam as its capital 60 km south of Kabul on Monday, a local official said. "A terrorist wearing explosive vest wanted to enter a mosque in Charkh district this morning fortunately was identified by police and stopped. However, the terrorist blew himself up killing himself and a police on the spot and injured four personnel of Civil Order police," spokesman for provincial government Deen Mohammad Darvish told Xinhua. The blast took place amid ongoing security forces operations in Charkh district to ensure security for April 5 presidential and provincial councils' elections. Taliban militants fighting the government have intensified activities to disrupt the coming election process in Afghanistan. The militants on Saturday organized a massive suicide attack against the election commission headquarters in Kabul but all the five attackers, according to police had been killed after five hours of gun battle.
