An explosion took place on Saturday when a booby-trapped vehicle went off close to the Central Bank in Crater district in Aden Governorate, according to an official security source.
The source told Aden Tomorrow newspaper online that the blast took place on Saturday morning at 5:40 a.m. as a booby-trapped car exploded near the checkpoint adjacent to the bank.
In initial reports, three people were wounded and moved to hospital for treatment as a result of the blast which damaged a number of adjacent houses, according to the source.
The explosion was very violent, said eyewitnesses.
On December 18, 2015, Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi had issued a decision relocating the bank's headquarters to Aden and appointing new board.
