Head of what is called the Supreme Political Council Saleh al Sammad assigned former Aden governor Abdulaziz bin Habtoor to form "a national salvation government".
Habtoor, 61, is from Shabwa province in southern Yemen. He was hired by Yemen’s President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi in 2014 as a governor for Aden.
He disappeared after Aden was liberated from Houthis and militias loyal to former Yemeni president Ali Abdullah Saleh in July 2015, then showed up in Sana’a to side by Saleh.
