The local authority in Taiz governorate denied Amnesty International’s report issued three days ago claiming that Yemeni army and resistance had threatened medical teams in Taiz city, Yemeni news agency reported on Sunday.
Amnesty’s report is groundless and untrue, the authority added.
The authority asserted that all hospitals in Taiz and their medical teams are still serving the residents under the protection of the Yemeni army.
The international organization’s report reflects a political stance not a humanitarian one, the authority further said.
Meanwhile, the Revolution hospital authority denied the report’s claims concerning the largest hospital in Yemen, asserting that the hospital does not host any armed militias.
In the meantime, clashes erupted on Saturday between Yemeni regime forces and Houthis militias in which seven Houthis were killed and 13 others injured. Also, two regime personnel were killed and seven others injured.
Furthermore, two civilians were killed and six others injured in Houthis shelling that targeted the residential neighborhoods in Taiz city.
Regime forces foiled Houthis attacks on west and east Taiz city while Arab-led warplanes shelled Houthis positions west of the city.
