Yemeni soldier killed, 26 others injured in Houthi shelling in Taiz

A Yemeni soldier was shot dead and 26 others were injured when Houthi militants and forces loyal to former president Ali Saleh targeted with heavy weapons sites of the Yemeni army and Public Resistance Committees (PRC) as well as residential districts in Taiz city, the media center of Taiz military council said on Friday. 

This came while Houthi militants and Saleh forces were sending military reinforcements to their positions in main entrances of the city in preparation for storming Ḥimyar district, Taiz media center added.

Yemeni army troops and the PRC members have fended off a Houthi attack in Al Dabab area in western Taiz after the Houthi militants tried to infiltrate into the area adjacent to the central prison, according to Taiz media center.
