A Yemeni soldier was killed and three others wounded in an attack on a security crackdown in Al-Jawf governorate in northern Yemen.
An official security source said in a statement today that a special security force on a mission at Al-Loaz area, located between Al-Aqaba and Al-Hazm sub-governorates was attacked by tribal militants, adding that a soldier was killed and three others wounded in the attack. Security and army forces arrived in the area in order to pursue the gunmen who fled after the incident, the statement said.
Al-Jawf governorate is currently experiencing tension between the army and Houthi group militants though a presidential committee announced that it had reached a cease-fire agreement between the two sides.
