Yemeni warplanes launched air strikes on strongholds of Houthi group militants in the governorates of Imran and Sana'a in north Yemen.
Yemeni security sources said Yemeni warplanes bombed this afternoon several sites of Houthi group militants stationed in Beit Badi and Shabil Street and Al-Araba'een road at the western entrance to the city of Imran, Sodat Adan at the southern entrance to the city, as well as the area of Bani Monis in Hamedan directorate in the province of Sana'a.
It said that the air raids came after violent clashes erupted between the army and the Houthi group militants in several fronts in the governorates of Imran and Sana'a, and resulted in the death and injury of an identified number from both sides.
The sources pointed out that the army responded to the attack by Houthi gunmen on military positions in the directorate of Eyal Srih blocked their progress toward the city of Imran.
Clashes between the army and Houthi gunmen were renewed about a week after the Presidential Commission tasked with ending the tension announced that it has reached an agreement to halt the clashes between the two sides. It was the second agreement to be concluded after the confrontations that exceeded Imran province into areas belonging to the capital Sana'a.
The Presidential Commission announced on Monday that efforts to stop the fighting between the army and Houthi group have stumbled, adding that the field committees formed to implement the cease-fire agreement have been unable to carry out their mission.
