Cameroon international highlights the importance of the Dutch sensation and jokes he had been teased about not providing an assist before setting up first goal.Arsenal midfielder Alex Song has hailed the importance and form of Dutch striker Robin van Persie after yet another match-winning performance against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday. The former Feyenoord man secured the three points and qualification for the Champions League knockout stage with a two-goal performance, and Song ran out of superlatives for the striker, who has now scored 38 goals in 2011. “He’s unbelievable,” he told Sky Sports. “He’s a very good player and it is a pleasure to play with him. “In every single game he shows he is very important and we hope to have him not injured because when he is injured it is very difficult for us, and today, every single day, he is unbelievable. “We just need to keep him in good form.” The Cameroon international admitted that the team started slowly during the match, struggling to contend with Dortmund’s energy right from the beginning, but he believes the most important thing was that they improved. “Yeah, we’re now playing every three days, but I think we did well today,” he continued. “We did not start the game very well, but we finished well and that is important. “In the second half we showed a very good performance and we have got a very good result.” With the victory, Arsenal managed to book their place in the next round of the competition and now sit top of Group F, and when asked whether the fixture had a \"big game feel\", Song agreed. “Of course,” he said. “We wanted to do well today because you know when you sit up at the top of the group it is always good because last season we dropped some points.” Song himself had a fine game but his biggest contribution came for van Persie’s first goal with the Cameroonian dribbling past three Dortmund defenders before supplying a delightful cross for the Dutchman to head home. “I was talking to Van Persie before the game and he said to me that I don’t have any chance of getting an assist today, so tonight I am very happy,\" laughed Song. \"Now when I go into the changing rooms, I will talk to him.\"
