Napoli stars Edinson Cavani and Paulo Cannavaro have expressed their delight and thanked the club\'s fans following their 2-1 victory over Manchester City in their Champions League Group A clash on Tuesday. With Napoli going ahead of the English side thanks to a near-post header from Cavani, City striker Mario Balotelli was able to equalise in the 33rd minute. However, the Uruguayan frontman sent the Serie A side back infront early in the second half to provide a memorable victory for the club. \"I dedicate the victory to the whole city,\" Cavani said, according to the official club website. \"We have always believed. From day one we thought we could compete with Manchester City and other teams in the group. We always prepare to give everything and play with a winning mentality.\" The win over Manchester City now puts Napoli in second place in Group A of the Champions League, with Bayern Munich in first place. Napoli will, however, have to wait until the final round of the group stage to confirm their qualification, as a win over Villarreal will cancel out any chance of dropping behind Manchester City in the group. Team captain Paolo Cannavaro, meanwhile, believes that while the victory was important, focus was needed for the upcoming fixtures. \"I feel a great joy this evening. We showed proof of our strength, but we must not glorify [ourselves],\" Cannavaro stressed. \"There is no need to celebrate, we have to rest and look towards Saturday\'s game in Atalanta, and to the next Champions League group match. We still have an important game with Villarreal.\" Napoli will face the Yellow Submarine in the final group stage encounter at El Madrigal in Villarreal on December 7 at 20:45 CET.
