Coach of Egypt’s national team Hector Cuper expressed his appreciation to Egyptian Football Association (EFA), headed by its president Hany Abu Rida, for its support to him and the coaching staff of the national team, saying that they exert increasing efforts to ensure Egypt’s qualification for the coming World Cup scheduled to be held in Russia in 2018.
He added, in a statement to “Arabs Today”, that the Egyptian national team walks in the right way during the qualifying round for the coming World Cup, praising also the positive results they achieved during Africa Cup of Nations held in Gabon in January. He appreciated the role performed by EFA’s board to push forward the national team and praised the members of coaching staff for their harmony and understanding.
Cuper also appreciated the role performed by the team’s Administrative manager Ehab Lahita, saying that he performs a major role to support the national team. He expressed his pleasure of the performance of the new players who joined the team recently, saying that they will perform a major role during the coming match against Togo in the framework of preparation for the coming match against Tunisia.
He added that his major objective during the coming period is to qualify for the World Cup, stressing his confidence of the players’ response to the orders of the coaching staff whether during the training or matches. He added that he gives the priority to the results at the expense of performance, saying that he does not care of criticism.
He denied any other offers to bear the responsibility of any other national team, saying, “I respect my contract with Egypt’s national team. I will resume leading the team until meeting the aspiration of the Egyptian fans of qualification for the World Cup scheduled to be held in Russia during the coming year.”
