Member of the board of Egypt’s Zamalek Ahmed Soliman said that the Egyptian coach is the better choice for the team during the current period, saying that the foreign coaches will not be able to achieve any success if they came in the middle of the season.
He added, during an interview with “Arabs Today”, the previous experiences in Egypt with the foreign coaches who came to lead teams in the middle of the season failed, including the experience Egypt’s team of Al Ahly took during the recent period. He stressed that there are Egyptian coaches who can lead the team during the current period, including Hassan Shehata and Helmy Tolan.
He revealed that Zamalek was close to take the signatures of Ahly’s players, including Mohamed Hany and Ramadan Sobhy, saying that Sobhy’s contract with Ahly has legal mistakes that could allow the player to join Zamalek. He blamed a member of Zamalek’s board for leaking the matter, saying that the officials of Ahly took serious steps to take the signature of the player during the camp of the national team.
He added that Ahly’s right wing retreated from his decision to join Zamalek in the last moment, saying that he was close to join the team. He denied what was published over the team’s intention to hold a contract with Ahly’s striker Amr Jamal, saying that they have not held any negotiations with him.
He added that he did not attack Zamalek’s board since he took his decision to resign from the team’s board, stressing his respect to the team and its fans. He added that he is keen to respect his history with Zamalek, saying that the team will take steps to sign a contract with Egyptian player Ahmed Al Sheikh of Makassa as soon as possible. He added that he is one of the most important players in the Egyptian league.
