Former UN Secretary General Boutros Boutros-Ghali said Tuesday that defending women rights promotes achieving global peace and development.
Ghali, who is now in Paris for a conference on women, told MENA that Paris conference may be considered as an extension of a conference, held two months ago in Cairo, on women role in the Arab world and Africa.
He delivered a speech to the Paris gathering, addressing challenges faced by women and stressing the importance that women should regain their right to practice their roles in achieving peace and development.
