Some 215,366 Moroccans were affiliated to social security in Spain by the end of January, despite the drop in Spain’s foreign affiliates, according to official figures issued on Tuesday.
The number of foreign Affiliates dropped to a total of 185.259 people in january, However Moroccans remain one of the first among foreign non-EU workers affiliated to social security in Spain. They are followed by the Chinese (95,782 people) and Ecuadorians (65,702), the Spanish ministry of Labor and Social Security said in a statement to 20 Minutos.
The number of foreigners whom are affiliated to social security reached in the same period 1,687,585, a drop of 1.42% compared to December (-24,274 workers). The number of Moroccans living legally in Spain on Dec. 31, 2015, was around 766,622 people, according to figures of the Immigration Observatory (OPI).
All over Spain foreign Affiliates, including those of Moroccan origin, form part of the following labor regimes. The General regime is the most populated with a total of 1,406,595 workers, which includes agriculture and home care.
The Autonomous regime has 277,304 people, ocean affairs 3,519 people and carbon counts with 166 occupants. Of the Total number of affiliates living in Spain, 945.462 are women and 742.123 are men, according to El Mundo.
