The Head of the Subcommittee on the Transfer of Humanitarian Aid to Southern Sudan Abdullah al-Toum Al-Imam has affirmed completion of preparations for the transfer of 500 metric tons of Dura (sorghum) through 18 truck to the State of Southern Sudan.
This came during his presiding over the meeting of the committee at the Secretariat General of the State government here Sunday.
Al-Imam reviewed the arrangements made for the resumption of the transfer of humanitarian aid to southern Sudan through the new passage in implementation of the agreement of the governments of Sudan, South Sudan and the United Nations through the World Food Program, stressing the completion of all arrangements and readiness for the transfer of food aid through the new corridor.
The Secretary General of the Government of Northern Kordofan State underlined that the transfer of aid demonstrated the seriousness of the government of Sudan in the relief of the citizens of Southern Sudan, urging the World Food Program to resume work through the new path.
For his part, the Representative of the World Food Program in Khartoum, Head of Logistics Support for Southern Sudan, stressed his commitment to address all issues of the committee, ensuring the provision of storage and transportation needs, renewing their cooperation with the relevant authorities.
