Chairman of the National Legislature, Prof. Ibrahim Ahmed Omer, has called for reactivation of the joint African work.
Addressing the opening sitting of the Youth Parliamentarian Summit Sunday at the Friendship Hall, Prof. Omer affirmed that the national parliaments will play a key role for building the future of Africa.
He called for turning the slogan of (One Africa. One African Voice) into a reality, stressing that convocation of the summit in Khartoum is aimed for bolstering the cooperation with the African peoples.
He hoped that the summit will come out with fruitful recommendations, especially with regard to solving the youth issues.
Prof. Omer has appreciated the great role being played by the Pan-African Parliament at the African joint work arena, referring to the responsibility of the youth parliamentarians in monitoring the executive performance.
He underscored the pivotal role of the youths in strengthening the social fabric by the call for refrain from affiliations, regionalism and racism which have been the causes of the internal disputes in Africa.
He asserted the importance of reconsidering the policies of education and the combating of unemployment as well as providing job opportunities, encouraging the youths to engage in the political work for enhancing the dialogue and tolerance culture and rehabilitation.
The National Legislature's Chairman has called on the youths to study and to understand the African charters which represent the frameworks for guaranteeing rights and duties.
He affirmed Sudan concern with supporting the youths, referring to their participation in the national dialogue.
He also called for adoption of efficient strategies at all levels for the contribution of the youths to dissemination of the democracy and peace culture in Africa.
