The deadline has been extended for artistic submissions in a campaign to honour the country’s martyrs.
Entries for the Proud Expressions initiative can now be submitted until Sunday, organisers said.
The campaign is a joint initiative of the Martyrs’ Families’ Affairs Office, part of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court, and the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority.
"We have been thrilled by the interest Proud Expressions has generated throughout the Emirates," said Sumayyah Al Suwaidi, events manager at the TCA.
"There are two categories of submissions – an open call to established and emerging artists, and one specifically for school and university students."
Participants can submit artwork including canvas, wood, digital art, photography and calligraphy. Emiratis and residents 18 or older can apply by completing a form available on the website www.proudexpressions.ae.
The public has been invited to pay tribute to the country’s martyrs by following the social media hashtag #The_UAE_Remembers.
