Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Deputy Chairman of the Civil Service Council, stressed the importance to link the institutional performance to the individual one in the public sector according to the action plan to generalize the institutional performance management project "Takamul" on all ministries and government institutions during the first semester of 2018. He was speaking as he chaired in his office at Gudaibiya Palace today the 18th meeting of the Civil Service Council.
The Civil Service Council Chairman and members hailed progress of "Takamul", especially during its current phase which is applied on an experimental basis on the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Works, Municipality Affairs and Urban Planning, the Housing Ministry, the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, the Ministry of Health, the Civil Service Bureau, the Institute of Public Administration, the Electricity and Water Authority and the Information and eGovernment Authority so as to link the institutional performance of those parties to the civil service strategic map.
The council underlined the need for an in-depth study of policies and legislation that have to be introduced or adjusted to cope with the implementation of the project in order to reach set up goals and boost the government’s role and services in achieving Bahrain economic vision and bolstering sustainable development so as to become one of the best 20 countries in the world by 2022.
"Takamul" project aims to improve productivity and effectiveness in the government institutions and ensure optimum use of financial and human resources, unify the framework of the institutional performance management in all governmental institutions, set up an early warning system, unify criteria of choosing, developing and gathering performance indices data, set up an effective structure to boost governance in the governmental institutions and apply the management board of the institutional performance indices through a smart system.
