Dubai Electronic Security Centre, DESC, has hosted a graduation ceremony for the students that attended their Online Safety Skills summer camp. The programme lasted for 3 weeks at the National Institute of Vocational Education located at the Dubai Academic City, in collaboration with ICDL Arabia.
The camp aimed to build the awareness, skills and abilities necessary to manage cyber security risks faced by individuals online. During the course, students learnt how to utilise the Internet and social networking sites effectively and safely.
Speaking on the occasion, Yousef Hamad Al Shaibani, CEO of DESC, said that educating the community about the dangers of cyber space is an essential element of Dubai's cyber security strategy.
Jamil, Director-General at ICDL Arabia, said, "We praise the efforts of DESC in the area of digital safety awareness among the younger generation and we are looking forward to expand our cooperation further and train a large and diverse range of age groups.
