Egypt reiterated support to efforts exerted to reach political settlement to the Yemeni crisis and to fight Houthi militias and terrorist groups in the Arab country.
Cairo renewed this stance during a meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Conference’s (OIC) foreign ministers, held in Mecca, to discuss the incident of firing a ballistic missile by the militias of Houthis and former president Ali Abdullah Saleh on the holy city of Mecca.
Leading Egypt’s delegation athe meeting, Deputy foreign minister for multilateral affairs and international security Hisham Badr reiterated Egypt’s condemnation to such vicious and sinful attack against the Saudi Arabia.
He warned that any attacks on the Muslim sanctities would have disastrous consequences on security and unity of the Muslim world.
Egypt called for taking all necessary measures to prevent the repetition of such heinous attack, reiterating its firm stance on supporting the legitimat government of Yemen.
