EXPO 2017 Astana has welcomed 2,779,820 visitors since its opening on June 10th up to August 20th, organisers revealed.
August 14th through 20th, the international specialised exhibition was visited by 345,445, a total of 49,349 people on average per day.
As compared to the previous week, the number of visitors increased by 14,000.
Pavilion Nur Alem, the architectural symbol and central element of the Astana EXPO-2017, is most visited facility.
The world's largest spherical building with the diameter of 80 and height of 100 meters also houses the Pavilion of Kazakhstan where visitors will be able to learn about the history, culture, traditions, places of interest and also recent achievements of Kazakhstan, Kazakh international news agency, KAZINFORM, reported on Tuesday.
The international exposition is taking place from June 10th to September 10th, 2017 in Astana, Kazakhstan under the theme "Future Energy", and aims to create a global debate between countries, non-governmental organisations, companies and the general public on the crucial question: "How do we ensure safe and sustainable access to energy for all while reducing CO2 emissions?"
The list of top visited facilities included Shell Children’s Lab; Children’s Park; Amphitheater; Cirque du Soleil; Art Center and Creative Energy Area.
